On Tuesday, January 15, 2013, The Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable will present “Breaking Up is Hard to Do---Or is It? Talking to Your Teens About Break Ups.” The program will be offered twice, once at 10 AM and again at 7 PM in the Community Meeting Room of the Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Road, Sudbury, MA.  The program is free and open to the public.

Featured speakers will include Nicole Daley, Director of the Start Strong Initiative and an educational specialist with the Division of Violence Prevention at the Boston Public Health Commission, who will share tips for parents about talking early and often about break ups and how they should be handled.

Colleen Armstrong, Youth Education Specialist, from REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, will discuss warning signs and potential consequences of an abusive or unhealthy relationship.

These two experts will be joined by two students from Wayland High School who will discuss how teens break up and the role of social media in the break ups.

Also included will be an interactive segment where the presenters will discuss various break up scenarios.
