I did not see any mention of the meeting at Lavender restaurant until 1:30 in the morning after town meeting concluded. Was this overlooked?

Also no mention of passing Bob Haarde over as the new BOS Chairperson. Wasn't it his turn in the rotation? Why would they go with O'Brien again? Almost 1600 people (48%) voted against him in the last election. Not exactly a vote of confidence. A fresh perspective to the Chair position would have been a logical move.

Does anyone know who else was at the Lav that night?

Well we know that there were two selectmen (O'Brien & Drobinski), one Town Manager (Valente), six other guests, at least one Lavender employee, NO BARTENDER, and at least one police officer to tell those that make the rules that they were in fact breaking the rules.

What a well run town.

Did they violate the open meeting rule?

Great question Laura! Whether or not they were isn't it always better to air on the side of caution and NOT put your self in a situation that would leave your residents scratching their heads. Shame on Maureen Vallente she should have known better. Arriving at a bar with 2 of your 3 Selectman an hour after it closes to the public just doesn't look good. How long has she been doing this job? Wouldn't it have been a better idea just to go to a bar outside of Sudbury or where the Selectman weren't going? How about just going home, it was 11:00 after all. Just another black eye for Sudbury in an already crazy week.

Jjoseph,
Correctioon the little non-party was broken up at 1:47am by the police.

As far as open meeting law goes, who knows. They all left the same town meeting and talked for almost three hours afterwards. The conversation was probably about the Red Sox and nothing to do with town business.
