ZBA Files Decision on Johnson Farm Project

Almost one year after the Sudbury Zoning Board of Appeals opened public hearings on the 40B Johnson Farm project, the Board on Wednesday gave conditional approval for the construction of 56 town houses.

The project will be called The Residences at Johnson Farm, at 189 Landham Road.

As recently as July 24, residents still hoped to head off the proposed housing development and crowded into the Conservation Commission's meeting at Town Hall.

The project started out as a proposed 120-unit apartment complex. The developer, Robert Moss, has agreed to several reductions since then.

40B refers to the Massachusetts law passed in 1969 that allows developers more flexibility in bypassing local zoning laws if they set aside at least 25 percent of new housing units for low and moderate income residents at rates deemed affordable. The 56-unit development would include 14 affordable units.

this confirms the application was filed on August 8th (page 40), conveniently one day prior to the town filing its Housing Production Plan (August 9th page 4). Had Jody Kablack done her job on August 7th or any day of her decades of service to Sudbury, we could have avoided much of this destruction of our community for the profit of town planner Kablack, and her husband, who serves as 40B defender and General Counsel of Massachusetts builders association.

Some would argue that Jody Kablack DID do her job, not the salaried position as Town Planner, but the other one, loyal wife to developer agent, Mr. Mark Kablack.

So the issue becomes one of mixed loyalties with the marriage vow taking priority to the duties and responsibilities held as part and parcel to her paid position wth the Town of Sudbury.

Take a page out of the O'Brien playbook and recuse herself of all such and obvious conflicts of interest, well that would pretty much put her out of her position as Town Planner. Her loss is our (Sudbury's) gain.
