The staff at Rossini's Pizzeria contacted the Sudbury Police Department on March 11 after a bunch of youths tried leaving without paying for their meals.

According to Sgt. Richard MacLean, the staff stopped four youths from Framingham who attempted to "chew and screw."

"The staff stopped them and they paid the bill," MacLean said.

The staff advised the youths they were not welcomed back to the restaurant.

In other police news from March 11:

• MacLean is advising residents of a possible fundraising scam where solicitors are making phone calls saying they are working for the Sudbury PD. MacLean said the department is not involved in any recent fundraising efforts. "We don't hire telemarketers for fundraising," he said. The department learned of the scam after one resident reportedly called the department after sending a donation, asking about the fundraiser. Residents with questions or concerns are asked to call the Sudbury PD at 978-443-1042.
• An officer on patrol on Great Lake Drive witnessed a solicitor placing literature in mailboxes. The solicitor was advised of the town by-law. He left after being advised.
• The department gave a copy of a modified restraining order violation to a defendent.
