Annual Model Matzah Bakery Family Experience a Success
Participants learned and lived the story of Passover and Matzah Baking.
Over 150 joyous participants joined this year's Chabad of Sudbury's annual Model Matzah Bakery Family experience on Sunday. The event, which was held at the Nobscot Reservation, featured a Model Matzah Bakery at which participants could learn and live the story of Passover and Matzah Baking, a chance to meet Pharaoh and Moses, a Model Seder, Passover Arts & Crafts and lots more.
Participants separated grains from their stalks, shelled them, then ground them on stone mills, made a dough with the flour, and ultimately made their very own Matzah. The energy was high in the room as dozens rolled out their dough and punched holes in their Matzot to ensure that they wouldn't rise.
While the Matzot were baking in the new oven, everyone enjoyed a Model Seder replete with Lifesize Seder Items and then got to enjoy Passover Arts & Crafts. Along with the dozens of families who participated we also had two nice groups from Congregation Beth El-okim in Acton and Temple Bnai Torah of Sudbury. Many parents and kids expressed their joy at this unique exciting event and pledged to be back next Passover.
