Cuisine for a Cause in Sudbury

Celebrity Chef German Lam supports HOPESudbury with culinary treats.

Wednesday evening at in Mill Village, celebrity chef German Lam treated guests to culinary delights as part of a HOPESudbury fundraising event.

Dishes included chicken and shrimp steeped in Jasmine tea, asparagus and orange topped with a mint dressing and chocolate mousse with strawberries and avocado.  Ingredients used in the preparations were exclusively of the healthy variety — low in sodium, fat and cholesterol.

Chef German Lam learned his trade while on the staff of Ritz Carleton, and now advocates for healthy and high quality cuisine.  Chef Lam offers in-home training for cooks wishing to learn the secrets of healthy five star cuisine. For more infomation about Chef Lam, visit GlamFoodLLC.com.

Sudbury marathoner Carrie Laporta also spoke at the event, explaining how HopeSudbury has helped her cause. She is running in the name of outreach to those who may be afraid or unwilling to ask for help. This will be Laporta's fourth running of the Boston Marathon.

According to their website, HOPEsudbury is dedicated to engaging the people of Sudbury in community-wide efforts to provide humanitarian aid to people in need, both at home and abroad.  Founded in 2001, the organization holds a telethon and auction each November.
