2. LEGALLY BLONDE!, THE MUSICAL: Proscenium Circus presents the hit Broadway musical, Legally Blonde! Elle Woods, UCLA sorority queen, can handle anything. So when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her her she decides to follow him to Harvard Law School and win him back. Once there, she finds herself a misfit in this new world until she discovers that her knowledge of the law can help others. With some help from new-found friends Paulette, Emmett and Elle’s chihuahua Bruiser, Elle learns that it’s so much better to be smart. The story is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the 2001 film of the same name. 

Directed by Linda Potter with music direction by Jeanie Furlan and choreography by Liza Levy.

Tickets are $18. Show begins at 7:30 p.m. at Acton-Boxborough Regional High School.

3. COOKING FOR KIDS: Exciting, unique once-a-month cooking clubs for children in grades two through eight. Each month a different cuisine is explored.

Students learn about healthy eating habits,  baking, meal planning and international cooking as well as how to use different kitchen equipment.

4. WHAT TO CELEBRATE TODAY: Today is National Freedom Day. National Freedom Day celebrates freedom from slavery, and recognizes that America is a symbol of freedom. National Freedom Day was established in 1948 to remind us that America stands for, and is a symbol of freedom for all people. The roots of this special day come directly from the end of slavery and the signing of the 13th amendment outlawing slavery.

5. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1790 — The Supreme Court of the United States convened for the first time, in New York City; 1960 — Four black college students began a series of sit-ins at a white-only lunch counter in Woolworth’s, Greensboro, N.C; 1968 — During the Vietnam War, a Viet Cong officer was executed with a pistol shot to the head by Saigon's police chief and the image captured in a famous news photograph; 1979 — Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini returned to Tehran after 15 years of exile; 2003 — The space shuttle Columbia disintegrated as it tried to reenter the Earth's atmosphere after a sixteen-day mission in space. All seven members of the crew were lost; 2004 — Janet Jackson's famous "wardrobe malfunction" occurred at Super Bowl XXXVIII.
