2. OARS PHOTO CONTEST: All photographers, young and old, novice and pro, are invited to enter OARS’ photo contest. OARS is seeking photographs that illustrate the beauty and challenges of the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord Rivers Watershed. Winning photos will be featured in OARS’ 2013 calendar. 3. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS: Lincoln-Sudbury plays host to Somerville while Acton-Boxborough laces up the cleats for a home game against Lexington. Both kickoffs are slated for 7 p.m.
4. IN THE MOOD FOR A NEW FLICK?: Just in time for the Halloween season, "House at the End of the Street" opens. Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Elisabeth Shue) and her daughter Elissa (Jennifer Lawrence) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. 5. A DAY FOR PEACE: The United Nations' International Day of Peace is celebrated on Sept. 21 each year to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. The International Day of Peace is also a day of ceasefire – personal or political.
