Five Things You Need to Know Today: Feb. 3
Attend the Coaches vs. Cancer charity games.
1. CHARITABLE: Coaches vs. Cancer
The Lincoln-Sudbury girls basketball and hockey teams are teaming up with the American Cancer Society to host a Coaches vs. Cancer Awareness game. The basketball game will be held on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School and the hockey team will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 8 p.m. at Valley Sports Arena in Concord.
Through head basketball coach Liza Feldman's and head hockey coach Greg Gammon's work with the Coaches vs. Cancer program, both girls teams have chosen to dedicate this home game that will benefit the American Cancer Society. Pink and purple will be worn by the players to honor all of their loved ones who have been touched by all cancers.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink or purple to the game. The Lincoln-Sudbury players are in the process of building a Wall of Hope which commemorates those whom died and all who are survivors of cancer. Wall of Hope cards will be available at the games for a $1 donation and will be added to the wall. All proceeds will be donated to the Society in order to assist in their goal of creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays.
