L-S Girls Cross Country Team Grabs Eastern Mass. Title
Warriors edge out Needham, 51-55.
The Lincoln-Sudbury girls cross country team added another win to its undefeated season on Saturday, winning the MIAA Eastern Division 2 Cross Country Championship in Wrentham.

The Warriors' depth once again prevailed with four runners placing in the top 15, enabling the squad to overcome a strong performance by Needham, which placed three runners in the top eight. LS's score of 51 points narrowly edged Needham’s 55.
The L-S runners who finished in the top 15 to earn individual medal honors were led by sophomore Sydney Clary, who finished secondin a time of 19:00. She was followed by sophomore Morgane Butler (fourth/19:12), senior Katie Lascaleia (seventh/19:20) and senior Sam Cook (12th/19:41). Daniela Hargus (26th/20:14), Ariel Keklak (33rd/20:42) and Brianna Bisson (49th/21:08) were the other L-S runners competing in the event.
Coach Henry Phelan offered praise to his team after the race.
“Sydney Clary has established herself as one of the top runners at the state level and new-comer Morgane Butler has continued to excel," he said. "Katie LaScaleia continues her pattern of running her best races when it counts and much improved Sam Cook has bolstered that front group to set the team up to do well at the State Championship next week. We will need all seven girls to run their best races in next Saturdays All State Meet and I feel confident that will happen.”
