No. 3 Story of the Year: Sudbury Man Found Dead on North Road
A look back at what made news in Sudbury in 2012.
(EDITOR'S NOTE: Top 5 stories, which will run from Dec. 17-21, were based on total page views as of Dec. 10.)
An unidentified 51-year-old Sudbury man was found unconscious on the side of North Road on June 15 after emergency personnel received a 911 call about someone in medical distress.
The man was identified on June 18 as Thomas Weis of 394 North Road.
The release of his name had been pending the notification of next of kin.
At approximately 7:35 p.m. on Friday, the Sudbury Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 484 North Road regarding a 911 call reporting someone in medical distress.
Upon arriving, Weis was discovered unresponsive lying next to the sidewalk. Medical measures were taken and the subject was transported to Emerson Hospital, according to a press release from Sudbury police.
He had what appeared to be an “Indala” security pass key (depicted in the attached photo).
There appeared to be no foul play in his death.

Please do not repeat this feature next year. These stories all are painful for the families and friends of the principals, many of whom are grieving their losses at this happy time of year.

This continued story is not serving the citizens of Sudbury. Why, then, do you not remove it? Your readers have all spoken.

Hi everyone. News outlets typically do these year-in-review types of stories at this time of year. We'll take your thoughts into consideration though when planning content next time. We don't mean to for it to be painful for anyone.

If you all don't mean it then please stop running this featured article because it is and has been painful. People can say, "then stop reading The Patch," but other people are reading it and the words are still out there, being discussed. If you won't pull this article then please be thoughtful when posting the next two "Top Stories." If the stories are top stories because of all of the hits they've gotten then you'd better believe they are going to be stories of hurtfulness and cause embarrassment for townspeople.

You think they are upset now, wait until Friday.
I'm guessing the number 1 story will be related to a certain after hours "celebration" at the local watering hole.
Car crash, news at 11. Nothing unusual here. What were they expecting the top five news list to be?
Number 2 should be interesting as well.

Patch loves drama--it pays the salaries. Cha Ching! It pits neighbor against neighbor for ratings with biased reports and made up stories. It has no moral code. It is another Sudbury embarrassment. Please pass the salt!

Why don't you please share ONE EXAMPLE of a made up story. I am sure you have dozens. There is nothing for Patch to be embarassed about. Your credibility is completely gone.

I dont know who is more revolting- Kirsten VanD or sudburycitizentoo-
Its obvious to everyone that you do not like the patch or the editor- so stop with the insults- and Kirsten you promised to stop commenting. You "both" need to get a hobby or start volunteering- just stop with the ugliness!

As I have said before, I post with my name and photo. Ann, if something I say regarding the insensitive reporting and the need to keep the feelings of others in mind is revolting to you then perhaps you are in need of clarity about what ugly is. Frankly, If the need to insult others is what prompted your first post on Patch I worry about what else the readers should expect from you. The citizens of Sudbury do not need to be reminded about the tragedies that have happened to some of the townspeople over the past year. The family members who are struggling with their losses do not need that type of freedom of speech--
So please Ann Howard, tell me and all of the other readers who are very upset with this story line that we are revolting for voicing our desire to protect our neighbors from more pain. You are part of the problem with your first "contribution" to Sudbury Patch being full of anger and hatred. Clearly you have the need to be full of anger and resentment. I feel compassion for you and your family members that must suffer from your problems.

My only hatred is towards you Kirsten! Only you-
I have no problems- I am not full of anger and hatred. I volunteer my time all over town at various places. I see heartache every day-
Unfortunatly tragedies happen- we have learn from them- and perhaps put forth the extra effort that they do not happen again-.
We as Sudbury Citizens are counting the days until you leave and move to RI- good luck to them! Merry Christmas

Thank you, Ann Howard, for clarifying your hatred. You clearly have issues with someone you have never met. That is your problem. Take your hatred and turn it into some good. Because from everything you have written on your very short tenure on Sudbury Patch is most unsavory and contributes nothing to the better good of this town. Not only do I feel compassion but sorrow for an individual that can have hate towards someone they have never met. You dear resident and citizen of Sudbury do have a problem. Get some help. Carrying around hatred like yours can cause a heart attack. Again, hating people you have never met is not rational and a cause for concern.

Robert G. Stein,
Perhaps your watch stopped and you did not read the 6 signs posted by the building owner Maggie Flood that clearly states parking is only for Maggie Flood and My PassionFlower customers. Your sense of entitlement and disrespect for the building owner and tenants combined with the fact that you are, unfortunately, who you are merited my stance. That and the fact that you have made threats to me and the Sudbury Police has a series of reports about you and your actions and the SPD have advised me to take further actions at the District Court all combine to the reality that you were very much in the wrong by parking within two feet of my vehicle. I have never said anything to any one else. You are special.

Oh and by the way Kirsten- I would'nt buy a pack of gum from you! You have attack the editor of the patch and every one else who comments here! If people dont agree with your way of thinking - you attack them. Everyone has an opinion, its not your job to judge!

Kirsten- there is plenty of room in my car- I will be delivering gifts and arts & crafts projects to children in the cancer ward @ Childrens- want to help?
I have met you- on several occasions- I have listened to YOU spewing your HATRED towards Mr Fucci, Mr Stein , Michael T, and all members of One Sudbury, and you have been disresoectful to The Hullingers!
You have done NOTHING to better the good of the town- you only try to tear them down - so please do what you promised!
I agree Sudbury Citizen! Boycott My Passion Flowere. Sudbury Farms, Shop & Shop have MUCH better arrangements- and you dont have to listen to craziness

No Ann Howard. I have never made your acquaintance and will do my best to avoid such toxicity. I will vocalize my disrespect for Sudbury Patch in it's continued need to publish this 5 part "story" that has proven to do what it does best--cause pain and misery and for that reason and that reason only I reply to you. No Ann Howard. We have never met. And pretending that we have suggests your instability is more profound than one might think.

Wow. You must enlighten us, Ann Howard. I surround myself with beauty and positive energy. You do not fit that criteria. If I see you everyday indeed I would be aware of it. Now I ask you to think about the family of this fellow who died and was found on June 18th and ask yourself if the hatred you are exhibiting towards me this afternoon and early evening is a good thing or a bad thing. I really am not interested in the answer.

You all complain about these stories being "painful" for the families... but that implies that these families would have forgotten about these horrible deaths and tragedies... which they obviously haven't. The only painful thing for these families is all you idiots arguing over BS. You people are what is wrong with local news sites and the likes.

Spirit of 01776,
"Ann Howard" made this a personal attack. I WILL defend myself. You continue on the negativity path by fueling the fire. This "story" of the 5 top stories is the source of debate and not entertainment. This stream of commentary is more a capsule of what is wrong with our town and less about who hates who. And I am not afraid to bring out the "best" of little hamlet. It reveals so much to those with the power to vote and make important decisions. And that is why you will continue to see my name and face and words on this chatroom. To help bring out the skeletons from Sudbury's overstuffed closet. Good day!

Sometimes it is better to not respond. Using this article as a "chat room" is disrespectful to the subject of the article. My suggestion would be to write a letter to the editor and then comment.

I did not make this a chatroom. Please do not include me in the group that did. When attacked I defend. When an article is offensive and many readers request its removal and the Editor remains silent then we readers have a right to protect our neighbors from further harm.

Kristen, i do not know you. I am not a Sudbury resident. I do think you need to re-evalute your postings. You are an adult and business owner and you ar enot doing yourself any god by even commenting in here. Now I see your comments on th Natick Patch. Please stay in your town and don't start in another town. If I were posting a back and forth argument like this i would be embarrased.

DGM,
As an admitted non-resident of Sudbury your clearly have not experienced the toxicity that this Sudbury Patch has published in OUR town. If AOL posts a news story in Natick that originates in Sudbury that is AOL's responsibility. I am not concerned with your opinion as it has no bearing on my purpose. My purpose is to defend the residents of Sudbury from further harm by an online "news" publication that has repeatedly presented biased reporting in order to increase sales. This is clearly not going to stop if I and others who have voiced the exact same opinion do not continue to voice our opinions. If you were to look back at every article of contention over the past 1.5 years you will see a pattern. Killing the messenger makes more a statement of the attacker.

Sudbury Citizen,
I feel nothing but pity for you. Empathy is hard to muster but the lies and defamation of character that you produce and the editor of the Sudbury Patch endorses by posting is indicative of the changes that need to will be made in the near future. For now, realize that my business has prospered over the 3 years I've been established because my clientele does not include the type of person that would be so bold as to write what you write. You are the minority in Sudbury, thank goodness, and in that position you must find comfort. I am a firm believer that the majority of people in this world are good and know the difference between right and wrong. You are not among the majority.
