No. 5 Story of the Year: Sacred Heart Student Found Dead

The Sudbury community was saddened when news broke on Oct. 24 of the sudden death of Will Cadogan.
Cadogan was a member of Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School's cross country and track teams, and spent part of a summer building a Habitat house in Alamosa, Colo.
Between 700 and 800 people attended a memorial service on Oct. 18 at Chapel of the Holy Spirit..
Cadogan was a freshman in the Welch College of Business.
The cause of death was not stated.
Cadogan is survived by his parents, Carol L. Cadogan and Ronald I Eisenstein both of Sudbury, according to his obituary. He was the brother of Diana M., Kevin B., Michael B., and Patrick W., all of Sudbury.
Cadogan and his family were featured in a WBUR story on mental health in January 2011.

Do sound judgement and compassion exist at the Patch? Are you short of happy things to write about? Your sensationalist headlines create a lot of anguish for many.

If you argue about who's a disgrace to Sudbury, you're obviously the disgrace. No one in Sudbury except you sad bored individuals care enough to be disgraced by these articles.

Take this down, as one of will's friends, this depresses your "No. 5 Story of the Year" happens to be the worst I've ever received. You shouldn't rank your stories simply by the number of views, rate them off the ability of the writer, and in this case, the writer lacks both empathy and writing skill. A pitiful page long summary of a human beings lifetime is not a "story of the year," it's an understatement of the beauty of one of the best human beings I know. I'm sick of strangers fighting on his obituary, I'm sick of people who didn't know him talking about him like a statistic, I'm sick of Sudbury Patch treating peoples business like gossip, spreading around whatever the bored housewives of our town find the most interesting, and controversial. Focus on the town issues, not the individuals, and how dare you be as shameless to use the excuse, it got a bunch of views to justify and obituary being the "story of the year." Get a grip, get a real job, and find something real to write about.

ME, as noted by Abby Jordan in the comments above, this is not the equivalent of a David Letterman Top 10. Rather, as Rob Fucci notes at the top of the story, it is a snapshot of what your community MOST read last year.
Whatever the topic, that is valuable to know. Please do not think we are taking the information lightly.
