Sudbury Board of Selectmen Chair Larry O'Brien announced at the beginning of Tuesday's meeting that the Lincoln-Sudbury teachers' union reached an agreement on a new three-year contract.

He said they had been in negotiations for 18 months.

"It was a long process, but a beneficial one," O'Brien said. "We accomplished the goals set forth to preserve teaching positions and maintain curriculum options."

O'Brien said modest wage increases were agreed upon. Cost of living adjustments would be 0 percent in year one, 1.15 percent in year two and 1.35 in year three.

"This was successful for both the community and the high school," O'Brien said. "There was trememdous cooperation with teachers association in reaching that deal."

An announcement will be posted on the L-S website later this week, he said.
