Principal: Curtis Middle School Student Dies of Cardiac Arrest

Tabitha Feldberg died unexpectedly on Sunday.

The following is an email sent by Curtis Middle School Principal Stephen Lambert:

I am writing to share some sad news about one of our seventh graders. Tabitha Feldberg, a student on the Olive Team, died unexpectedly on Sunday evening from cardiac arrest. Tabitha leaves her parents, Sue and Ian, as well as two older siblings, Celia and Isaac, both students at L-S.

At this time the family has requested private time while they work through the grieving process and plan services. I will forward that information to you when I know more.

This family has been part of our community for many years. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Tabitha's passing comes at the same time as the tragedy at the Boston Marathon. Please know that we will have our school psychologists and guidance staff available on Monday to assist with students who might need support with either event.

Please feel free to contact your child's guidance counselor at any time, if there is any special support that you think your child might need.   Our guidance staff can be contacted as follows: Grade 6: Ann-Nolle_McCowan@sudbury.k12.ma.us (Ext. 1113) Grade 7: Ivar_Henningson@sudbury.k12.ma.us (Ext. 1112) Grade 8: Terry_Miller@sudbury.k12.ma.us (Ext. 1110)   I have included some tips that might be helpful as you share this information with your child. A local therapist, and former Curtis parent, sent this to me yesterday.

At this difficult time remember to lean on and hug each other often.

My best, Stephen
