PTO Funds Ceiling Fans, Monitor At Loring Elementary School

Sudbury Public Schools Committee accepts donation.

The Sudbury Public Schools Committee voted to accept a donation from the Loring Parent-Teacher Organization to fund fans and a monitor at its Tuesday night meeting at the Sudbury Senior Center.

The donation will fund two high-tech ceiling fants in the dining area and an LCD monitor in the school's lobby. The monitor will display photos and school announcements.

"We take a lot of pictures at our events, so we can show pictures of the kids on a closed-circuit TV," said PTO Co-Chair Amy Adolfsson. "It can also be used for birthday announcements and that sort of thing."

"We look forward to it making a big difference for the air circulation," said Principal Steven Silvestri about the new ceiling fans. "If they work out well, we might install more of these fans in other areas, but we'll see how these work out first."

The School Committee voted unanimously to accept the donation.
