Resident Reports Brown Water from House Taps

Sudbury police say water department is fixing a well; water not dangerous.

Sudbury resident Stacey Bernstein emailed Sudbury Patch Monday evening to report the water in her house was running brown.

According to Sudbury Police Sgt. John Harris, the Sudbury Water Department is fixing a well, which may be the cause to the brown water.

"It's routine maintenance," Harris said. "If you run the water it should clear."

A call to the water department was picked up by an answering machine stating it was closed for Columbus Day.

"The brown water isn't palatable to drink," Harris said, "but it's not dangerous."

Tap water on horse pond rd is still brown on tuesday.
