Very sorry to hear that Patrick has passed away. Though we've moved to the North End and there is no longer a Roche Bros. store near us (though we hope that one will open someday), it is by far our favorite supermarket.
I am thankful for the compassion and generosity the Roche family has always shown. Here's one small, personal example. I used to drive a friend and struggling alcoholic to AA meetings. Between relapses, he worked at the local Roche Bros store. What amazed me at the time was that every time he put together a couple weeks off the bottle, Roche Brothers would give him yet another chance. Eventually, he "got it," stayed sober, and finished college, thank to the very personal philanthropy of the Roche family. God speed, Patrick!

May Pat rest in peace. I first met Buddy and Pat in Roslindale Sq. a small little meat market. I was a new bride and use to ask for 2 of this and 2 of that. One of the brothers asked if i were recently married...This brother was married same month as I was June 8,1957 . He told me not to ask for 2 of this etc. just ask for what meat I wanted and he would give me the correct amount. Both brothers were great. I moved to Cape Cod a year ago and so happy to have a Roche Brothers in Mashpee .
