(EDITOR'S NOTE: The following was submitted to Sudbury Patch.)

Sudbury lost their home opener to Wayland, 50-35, despite a great effort from Brendan Frain, who scored 15 points and played tenacious defense.

Leading rebounders were Parks Marilla (5 points), Jessie Sun (4 points) and Thomas Palmer (3 points).

Brett Parker, Jake Titus & Nate Rizzo managed the ball-handling and dished out several assists.

Ben Kateman, David Lifson & Teddy Chunias contributed good team defense.

The highlight of the game was Parks Marilla's 3 point shot that banked in as the buzzer sounded to end the first half.
