UPDATED: Sudbury Man Charged in Domestic Case Freed on $10K Bail

The following arrest information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

UPDATED: 4:38 P.M.

A Sudbury man who allegedly punched a woman in the face after breaking into her apartment Saturday is out on $10,000 cash bail.

"He entered the apartment and threatened to kill the female victim and punched her in the nose with a closed fist," said Det. Scott DeCiero of the Community Services Bureau of the Marlborough Police Department.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the woman bleeding from the nose, but she refused medical attention.

The man who allegedly hit her, later identified as Michael Koenig, 50, of 82 Phillips Road in Sudbury, reportedly broke into the bedroom window of the victim's apartment on Broadmeadow Road shortly after 8 p.m. Saturday night. He then threatened to kill the woman and man in the apartment before striking the woman, according to Det. DeCiero.

The female victim reported that Koenig left when she went to call 911. He fled the scene in a black Mercedes, according to the police report.

He was released on $10,000 cash bail on Monday and has a pre-trial hearing set for April 8. He has been charged with armed burglary, vandalizing property, assault and battery and two counts of threatening to commit a crime. The armed burglary charge stems from terms in state law that cause breaking into a person's house and assaulting them at night to fall into the armed burglary category, said Det. DeCiero.

Below is the original story.

A report of a domestic issue that started in Marlborough on Saturday night ended in the arrest of a Sudbury man.

According to Sudbury Lt. Scott Nix, Marlborough police contacted the station at about 8:34 p.m. to report they had probable cause to arrest the local man for a domestic issue with his ex-wife, and that a knife may have been used.

Nix said Sudbury officers went to 82 Phillips Road where Michael H. Koenig, 50, lived.

After monitoring the area, Sudbury officers made contact with Koenig at his home. He was arrested and charged with:

  • Domestic assault and battery;
  • Defacing property;
  • Breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony.

Police later found Koenig's car parked behind the CVS on Boston Post Road.

Koenig was held over the weekend and was scheduled to be arraigned at Framingham District Court on Tuesday.

A comment was taken down because a name was mentioned as being the possible victim of a domestic crime. Patch does not know if the name was related to the alleged crime and all assumptions of who the victim is will be taken down.

The alleged assailants last act of kindness was almost getting in a fight at Lotus Blossom. Sounds like anger management time!
