UPDATED: Tornado Watch Discontinued for Region
Flash flood warning still in effect until 8:30 p.m.
The tornado watch for our region has been discontinued.
A flash flood warning is still in effect until 8:30 p.m.
Below is the original watch and warning statements from the National Weather Service.
Numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected today and later tonight, with some storms having the potential to become severe.
A tornado watch means conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes.
A line of thunderstorms was headed toward the affected area with 1- to 2-inch-per-hour rainfalls.
The NWS is advising motorists to not drive vehicles into areas where roadways are covered by water. The water depth may be too great to allow vehicles to cross safely.
