The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for Sudbury, effective 4 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Sustained wind of 20 to 30 mph from the west can be expected.
Wind will increase tonight as a storm center that dropped a trace of snow on the area departs. The strongest wind is forecast for later in the day on Saturday, but should start diminishing Saturday night.
Residents are urged to weigh down lighter outdoor objects, such as trash cans and lawn chairs. The wind may also be strong enough to down small tree limbs and branches.
Drivers can expect conditions to worsen as the wind increases during the day.
A high wind warning is issued when sustained wind is forecast to be 40 mph for at least one hour, or with gusts of 58 mph or stronger at any time.
Power outages are likely.
