I'd like to thank all the people who signed my nomination papers and those who helped me gather signatures.  We did it!  I couldn't have done it without your help and support.

I'd like to announce that I am running for the Governor's Council seat in District 3.  While many people will be concentrating on the higher profile campaigns,  I hope you take the time to learn a little about the Governor's Council.  Many active political junkies don't even know what the Governor's Council does.

The Massachusetts Governor's Council provides advice and consent to the Governor of Massachusetts, particularly about judicial nominations, justices of the peace and criminal pardons.  For the Governor's Council race, Massachusetts is split into eight districts.  Each district nominates one Governor's Councillor, so the entire Governor's Council is comprised of eight members.  Each councillor serves a two year term.

I am running as an independent (unenrolled), but here will be a primary for the Democratic party and the winner will run against me on November 6.  I hope you take the time to learn about the candidates and their views.  Once you do, I hope you agree with me that I am the best candidate for the job.

I plan on running a huge grass roots campaign, but the 3rd District has approximately 800,000 voters in it and I can't possibly meet everyone. In lieu of geting to speak to everyone, I will be writing monthly letters to the editor and meeting as many voters at community events as possible.  I look forward to chatting with you so you can understand who I am, why I am running, my issues and why I became an independent.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
