Amherst College junior attack Devin Acton (Sudbury, Mass.) was named an All-NESCAC first team selection in men's lacrosse. Acton, the 2011 Rookie of the Year and Second Team member, has led Amherst in scoring since arriving on campus. This year was no different, as he put up 35 goals and nine assists.

The Endicott men's lacrosse team will make their 10th appearance in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) championship game since the 2001 season after the Gulls handed the University of New England a 15-6 loss in the conference semifinals. Sophomore Andrew Kelley (Sudbury, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season in the loss.

The Middlebury College men’s and women’s track and field teams hosted the Middlebury Invitational on April 20 at the Dragone Track. Patrick Hebble (Sudbury, Mass.) won the 1,500 meters.

The Haverford College softball team picked up two Centennial Conference wins on Saturday afternoon on the road, taking a 10-0 five inning victory, followed by a 3-2 win over the Swarthmore College Garnet. In the final game of the doubleheader, with the score locked 2-2 in the seventh inning and one out, Elizabeth Newman reached base on an error by the Swarthmore second baseman and eventually scored the winning run.

Carl Anderson (Sudbury, Mass.) had 3 hits, 2 runs scored and an RBI as the Bryant University baseball team ran its winning streak to 14 games with an 8-1 victory over Rhode Island on Wednesday at Conaty Park.

The Endicott men's tennis snapped a two-match losing streak in their Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schedule as the Gulls defeated North Shore Cup and league rival Gordon 7-2 at the South Campus Courts. Senior Benjamin Randlett and sophomore Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) handed their #2 doubles opponents an 8-1 defeat to put Endicott up 1-0.

The Wheaton College men’s lacrosse team had six different players score at least two goals to defeat Salve Regina University, 15-5, in non-conference action on Wednesday evening at Mirrione Stadium. Junior Adam Soloperto (Sudbury, Mass.) had a goal for the Lyons.

The Endicott men's tennis team swept past Ramapo in doubles play en route to a 6-3 victory over the Roadrunners at the Spring TennisFest. Endicott managed to take all three doubles matches as senior Benjamin Randlett and sophomore Eric Gandrup (Sudbury, Mass.) completed the sweep with a gritty 8-6 win.

The Bryant University baseball team recorded a season-high 18 hits in a 12-0 victory over Wright State on Sunday afternoon at Nischwitz Stadium. Carl Anderson (Sudbury, Mass.) went 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored in the win.

Facing a familiar opponent in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) and North Shore rival Gordon, Endicott men's lacrosse head coach became NCAA Division III's 13th member of the 200-win club as the Gulls handed the Fighting Scots a 14-3 defeat for their first win this spring. Endicott had a 49-39 groundball advantage with senior Ryan Sutherland (Sudbury, Mass.) scooping five.

Playing in their 2013 season opener and their first of several games against nationally ranked opponents, the Endicott men's lacrosse team faltered against the #7 ranked Stevens Ducks 21-9 on the road to fall to 0-1 overall on the season. Gulls senior goalie Tom Burke (Sudbury, Mass.) took the loss to fall to 0-1 on the year. He made eight saves in the cage but saw five man-up goals on 15 Endicott penalties contribute to the team's loss.

The Endicott men's volleyball hit .306 as a team in a 3-0 (25-8, 25-12, 25-15) victory over NECC opponent Regis and in the process moved their 2013 record above.500 for the first time this season while remaining unbeaten in conference play. Sophomore Kristian Catalan (Sudbury, Mass.) chipped in with four digs in one set of play.

Winter storm Nemo finally took its toll on the Dartmouth Winter Carnival with high winds forcing the postponement of the men’s and women’s slalom races today at the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, N.H. But the 3x5K Free cross country races at the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, and the Big Green men and women each posted the fastest times to finish a clean sweep of the Nordic events. Corey Stock (Lincoln, Mass., Lincoln-Sudbury) recorded the fastest leg of any competitor with a time of 15:46.8.

In its final home meet of the season on Senior Day, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps swimming and diving teams both earned victories over the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens. sophomore Timothy Storer (Sudbury, Mass.) won multiple events in 200 backstroke and 200 IM for the Stags.

Senior co-captain Scott Anderson (Sudbury, MA) scored 18 points, including the 1,000th of his career, as the Tufts men's basketball team won its fourth in a row, 73-56, over Connecticut College in a NESCAC game. Anderson drained a three-pointer to open the scoring and become the 27th player in Jumbo history to reach the 1,000-point milestone. He also grabbed six rebounds in the game.

The Middlebury College indoor track teams opened up their season with a meet at Dartmouth. Junior Brian Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) got his season off to a great start, breaking the school record with a time of 7.13 in the 60 meter race, good for fourth place.

Sophomore Hannah Foley (Acton, Mass.) led the Tufts women's basketball team during a busy 4-0 week to begin the new year and has been selected as the New England Small College Athletic Conference Player of the Week (ending June 6).

Foley averaged 13.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per game as the Jumbos earned wins at Connecticut College (69-37), at Clark (65-53), and at home in the opening week of NESCAC play against Williams (61-57) and Middlebury (54-41). She was 6 for 15 (40 percent) shooting three-pointers.

The Jumbos capped the week with two milestones in the Middlebury game. It was the 200th victory of head coach Carla Berube's career, and it marked the program's best-ever start at 13-0.

Scoring double-digits in all four games, Foley led the Jumbos with 18 points at Conn and tied for the team lead with 14 at Clark and 13 against Williams. She shot 48.7 percent over (19/39) and was 11 for 12 from the line (91.7 percent).

Foley was 6 for 9 from the floor and made both of her three-point attempts at Connecticut College, while adding three steals defensively. She had three more steals while shooting 6 for 10 (2 for 4 on threes) at Clark. During the conference weekend, she had 13 points and five rebounds against Williams and 10 points with three steals in the Middlebury game.

Foley is among the NESCAC top 10 in a few categories. Her 12.2 points per game overall led the squad and are seventh in the league. She is the sixth most effective three-point shooter with a .406 percentage (26/64). She's also fifth in the league with a total of 25 steals.

On Saturday, Jan 5, at the Father Diamond Indoor Track Invitational hosted by George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., Georgetown University sophomore Andrea Keklak (Sudbury, Mass.) qualified for both the BIG EAST and ECAC Championships with a fifth-place finish in the 500m (1:15.17). The Georgetown women's 4x800-meter relay team featuring Keklak, Madeline Chambers, Katrina Coogan and Hannah Neczypor also qualified for both championships with a first-place time of 8:53.63.

The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team was defeated 58-47 by Cleveland State University in non-conference action at Wolstein Center. Elizabeth Belanger (Acton, Mass.) had seven points, four rebounds and two steals for UNH.
