The Lincoln-Sudbury line gradually wore down its counterparts from Tewksbury and the Warriors rallied from an early 12-0 deficit to post a 15-12 non-league road win on Saturday. Chris Giorgio plowed in from 2 yards out with just 1:30 left in the fourth quarter to give the Warriors the win. The Framingham Bandits played the Academy Squad 1 team from Sudbury at Bowditch Field Friday night. The Bandits stole a victory 3-0. The two U14 teams were the nightcap game Friday night, as part of the 31st annual Memorial Day Classic Soccer Tournament, hosted by Framingham United Soccer Club. More than 130 teams competed in the two-day annual Framingham soccer tournament in four locations on 19 fields. Teams travel from all over New England and New York to compete. The Sudbury Newcomers Club celebrated its 50th anniversary with a holiday party at the Wayside Inn on Dec. 16. Past and current members gathered for a great evening of friendship, live music, and a festive dinner. During the cake cutting, members spoke about their experiences with the club. One past president said that SNC was the place where she "found her people." The club aims to foster community between new Sudbury residents and veterans alike. An annual holiday treat in Sudbury is a visit to the Hosmer House to view themed decorations throughout the historic mansion. This year's theme focuses on animals. The photos above provide a virtual tour through the creative animal-centered displays arrayed about artist Florence Hosmer's home.

The Sudbury Fire and Police Departments took steps toward making the town safer as they hosted their second annual Public Safety Day at the Sudbury Fire Headquarters. The event offered at least 100 attendees the chance to receive valuable information to bring safety into their daily lives. "It's all about education by having fun," Sudbury Fire Prevention Officer Timothy Howe said. "We use this event to get the message about safety to the people." The Sudbury Chamber of Commerce will held its annual Sudbury Open golf tournament at Marlborough Country Club on Monday. The Tournament raises money for the annual Fourth of July parade and other programs and services provided by the Chamber. For scenes from the tournament, check out the photo slide show above.
Bike Sudbury took place on a beautiful Sunday morning. It was a little chilly, but that did not stop the many families who came out for this fun fitness activity that entailed both 6-mile and 12-mile routes through the beautiful streets of Sudbury. The money raised from this awesome event went to “Let's Get Playing,” a non-profit based in Sudbury, started by Ephraim Curtis Middle School physical education teacher Cathy "Coach Cate" Dill. “Let's Get Playing” has already donated fitness and sports equipment to kids Coach Cate met along the way on her coast-to-coast “Exercise Across America” …
Painting, sculpture, furniture, pottery, drawings, jewelry and more are on view this month as part of the Sudbury Art Association All-Members Art Show. Featuring works from as many as 50 SAA members, who all live in Sudbury, the show is rich in its offerings - and free. The SAA held an opening night celebration last week to kick off the month. The show is taking place in the location formerly housed by Thunder Sports in the Sudbury Plaza. Gravestar Inc. donated the space to SAA for the month of September.
