For the 12th year, the Sudbury Wayland Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable will sponsor Shower for Shelters from Monday, April 23 through Monday, May 7 and a free wine tasting, “Libations and Donations,” Friday, April 20 at 7 p.m. at Sudbury Wine and Spirits.
Typically, women leaving an abusive relationship, arrive at shelters with no money, nowhere to live and just the clothes on their backs. Shower For Shelters helps families transitioning from a shelter establish their new homes. Your generous donations of NEW household items give the families hope. Care and support of the community strengthens them as they take steps to rebuild their lives free of abuse. Shower For Shelters also helps the shelters and transitional housing programs of REACH, The Second Step and Voices Against Violence.
Bring a donation to Sudbury Wine and Spirits on April 20, partake of the tasty libations and meet some members of the Roundtable or drop donations off in the baskets located at the libraries in Sudbury, Wayland and Lincoln April 23 through May 7.

Our website, domesticviolenceroundtable.org and each library has a complete list of the items needed. Some of the needed items are diapers, household cleaners, sheets, blankets, baby shower items, personal items, flatware, plates, glasses, and towels. Gift cards to CVS, Market Basket, Stop & Shop, Hannaford’s, Shaw’s, and Roche Bros. are also appreciated or send a donation to SWLDVR with a notation “SFS” to PO Box 543, Sudbury, MA 01776.
If you share our determination to eliminate domestic violence or are interested to hear about how our community addresses domestic violence, you are welcome to attend our monthly public meetings. We meet on the second Tuesday of every month, September through June, at 3 p.m., in the Wayland Public Safety Building at the intersection of Route 20 and Route 27 in Wayland, Massachusetts. There are no attendance fees and no dues.
