Sudbury Garden Club presents A Taste of Holland
Ready for a touch of spring?! Come along as Adriana O’Sullivan takes us on a tour of Keukenhof, the largest spring-flowering bulb display in the world. Her colorful slide presentation highlights picturesque Holland and includes Dutch bulbs, gardens, architecture, history and art. In Leiden, you’ll find a garden made by Carolus Clusius in the 15th century and in Haarlem, the Frans Hals Museum.
As a little Dutch girl, Adriana lived in a windmill and ran around in wooden shoes. She went on to graduate from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Hertogenbosch, NL with a major in Ceramic Design. Her modern sculptures are on display at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Boymans-van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam.
After relocating to the United States, Adriana turned her passion to gardening and she graduated from the Landscape Institute at the Arnold Arboretum. Her creativity, artistic design qualities and knowledge of plant material is evident in her environmentally friendly landscapes that are in harmony with nature. She has worked on several historic gardens and has expanded her projects to include residential and commercial landscapes. Adriana’s slide presentations feature spectacular photographs and her enthusiasm is infectious and inspirational.
Refreshments will be served at 9:45 prior to the program which begins at 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, February 13th at the Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Road in Sudbury. The public is welcome to attend free of charge. For more information, please visit our website at www.sudburygardenclub.org.
