Join us for worship Sunday, January 27th at the Presbyterian Church in Sudbury. Dr. McIvor’s sermon is “Eat, Drink, Share” based on Nehemiah 8.1-10. The book of Nehemiah tells about the Hebrew people coming home after exile in Babylon. They gathered to hear the scriptures — the book of the law of Moses — read by Ezra the scribe. When they heard God’s word, they worshiped. They also wept and Nehemiah and Ezra said, “Don’t mourn. Instead eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to those who have nothing prepared.” In other words, God’s word blesses us to eat, drink, and share.
