The Case for 3 to 5: A Discussion With Mike Troiano
Goodnow Library, 21 Concord Rd, Sudbury, MA | Get Directions »
FREE
Those of you at the last town meeting will recognize Mike Troiano as the Sudbury resident who made the case for the change for 3-5 Selectmen. Since then, he's led the charge to implement the change passed overwhelmingly that night, through approval in the State House and Senate, and onto the Governor's desk where it was signed into law pending confirmation by town ballot.
With the ballot now set for the March 25 town election, Mr. Troiano is again making the case for the change. So why does it matter, and why should you support it? Is it really all about "Lavendergate," or the infamous "One Sudbury" Facebook group that resulted from it? And does supporting this change represent a de-facto support for one party or faction of the town, over another?
Join us, and decide for yourself. Mr. Troiano will share a brief presentation on the subject, followed by an open Q&A session and discussion. All are welcome at this important town event, which will be sponsored by the SRTC.

I want to put up one of their yard signs but they are one sided. Did anyone tell Mr. Troiano that traffic goes both ways?

You could put up two signs facing one way and one facing the other, or three signs facing one way and two old signs facing the other. I think that more signs get things done better, just don't leave them in the same place too long or they are hard to get them out of Sudbury soil

I wonder if everyone is honestly welcome to the discussion or if they will be ejected for asking questions and having a dissenting voice.....

Oh Kirsten please stop! Why do you need to behave like this??? You post antagonizing comments and then complain, whine and cry that people are attacking you-

Kirsten,
No reason to make a post like this today. You should have just gone and I'm sure you would have been treated respectfully. If not, then come back and let everyone know. This just makes you look bad.

Kirsten- PLEASE! Just stop! Your original comment was obnoxious. I believe to did simply to start a negative string of comments. You know very well why you were "ejected" from One Sudbury. While I believe you have ever right to comment, you got out of control. You posted over 70 comments! You became aggressive and insulting to others.

Linda Johnson,
The two comments before mine were pokes, humorous, but pokes. I would love to see the comment threads with my comments posted on Patch and let the people see what really happened. That will never happen.

With all due respect Kirsten- we have all seen the comment threads with your comments- nothing to be proud of I must say. You are just as guilty for starting the back & forth. It seems as though, when people do not agree with you, you tend to get aggressive and rude. My 2 & 4 yr olds act more mature. Please stop stirring the pot!

Linda--I'm referring to the Lavendergate comment threads that you seem so confidently to reference. Members of Lavendergate came to me face to face to express their feeling that I was unjustly treated. Please post the Lavendergate comment threads--you and I know that you would not dare let the truth be told or let others make up their own mind. You and the other attackers are obviously trying yet again to somehow discredit me when scrutiny is at your door. Your attacks have not done anything but reveal the need you have for catharsis and I am the unfortunate object of that cathexis--and I am growing rather tired of your issues.

Kirsten- I am not attacking you- stop getting defensive. It simply seems that whenever you post a comment things get ugly & childish rather quickly. I did see the comment threads, I myself do not belong to the group, it was shown to me by a close friend. I agree with moving from 3-5, however I believe there are other important issues in town that need to be addressed. I do not feel adults need to be addressing each other like this. You seem to be an intelligent woman- why not use it for good- not this childish banter

Linda--you should have left well enough alone. Scrutiny is at the doorstep and it will force it's way inside. Hey, Open Up already. Let's be One Sudbury. Lavendergate is your maiden name. I'm the first one in line to grab a front row seat to hear what of educational value Mr. Troiano has to offer at this "important town event". His background in social media is all the experience i need to believe in everything he says hook line and sinker. I'm sure he will run for Selectman with his ethical and moral background and selfless actions. Illusion and hypocrisy. Eat it up. I'm not swallowing.

You are a very bitter and angry woman Kirsten- now you are making 'threats". Very childish

Bitterness is not in my personal dictionary. It seems it is in yours, "Mother Mary Margarita". Perhaps you and Haynes Parent should share a cup of coffee together and have this discussion amongst the two of you. What you say, and your actions, are very revealing. I have always stood by what I say and will always do so. And I sleep comfortably at night without a conscience waking me. I'm not bitter. I'm simply growing tired of what "your kind" has to offer. Have a wonderful Valentines Day!

Funny. You can dish it out but you can't take it. How does it feel to have insults flung at you? Learn correct grammar and spelling and then we can talk.

How many more comments have been removed, Mr. Editor? Every single entry by Haynes Parent has been removed. Must be at least 6 or seven you have cleaned up. Finally doing some "editing". Now why not remove my responses to Haynes Parent and make the thread a bit more sensical. Or is that not your intention?

Just ridiculous! Lets be adults! Lets not throw accusations- we all live here, we all want whats best for the town-

First, I think it is about people with other agendas not 'doing what is best for Sudbury'.
I see the STRC is sponsoring the event. Republican Town Committee? No agenda? Sure. Right. Maybe there is another perspective that hasn't been looked at. Open Minds, better Sudbury? I like what is here. Why hasn't the Town looked at this issue? Where is the public comment? We need a place to discuss both sides fairly and calmly, not at the Republican Town Committee event, or Democratic Town Committee either.

The town has looked at this issue- many times. There has been public comment , it has gone up for debate several times- not looking to be attacked or accused, just saying-

Kirsten,
Thanks for the comments. I would like to point out the the Leauge of Women Voters has gone silent. Why? Because they are all Democrat and biased towards MoBrinski. They are 100% Democrat all the way! If you looked at OneSudbury it is absolutely bi partisan.
I am voting for 3 to 5 and I am a 2 time O'Bama voter and proud of it. It is time for change in our little hamlet. Those in charge have abused their power. Please do not try to make this a political party issue, it is not. It is an issue of too much power in the hands of too few people for too long, and they have taken advantage of that situation.
KATiEE ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

HAHAHAHA Kirsten you are just on a roll today huh?
Anyway, I originally came here to laugh at you all for arguing over local government, but Kirsten's crusade against everyone once again takes the cake for hilariousness.
