Bowdoin College Honors Top Students from Sudbury

Here are 5 things to know today in Sudbury.

1. Bowdoin College held its annual Sarah and James Bowdoin Day ceremony on Oct. 25 to honor those undergraduates who distinguish themselves by excellence in scholarship.

Those students who are designated Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholars are in the top (highest GPA) 20 percent of each class for the previous academic year. In addition, those scholars who earned a GPA of 4.0 are designated Sarah and James Bowdoin Book Award winners.

Among those honored were:

  • Graham Hotchkiss of Sudbury is a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2014 and is a Book Award winner. Hotchkiss is earning a major in mathematics and music .
  • Jordan Richmond of Sudbury is a member of the Bowdoin College Class of 2016 . Richmond is earning a major in (undeclared).
2. A public hearing is scheduled for Nov. 13 at 7:45 p.m. at Town Hall for the Mahoney Farms Modification Request.

3. Start November off right with a Photo Solutions workshop on Nov. 4 at 2 p.m.,  then sign up for a fun, intergenerational dance class with students from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School on Nov. 5 at 3 p.m. 

When Saturday comes around make sure to visit the Holiday Bazaar. The Friends of Sudbury Seniors have lots of special treats: unbelievable baked goods, great coffee, light lunch, along with crafts, jewelry, boxwood trees and more. Stop in on Nov. 9!

Wednesday: Mainly cloudy skies with some sprinkles or passing light showers between 7am & 11am. Highs in the low 50s.

Thursday: Spooky clouds are still with us. Peek-a-boo sun and a mild, ghastly southerly breeze developing in the afternoon. Passing shower possible, but many dry hours. Highs near 60. Mid/upper 50s for the little little ghosts and goblins!

Friday: Mild, windy and wet with soaking showers likely. Upper 60s despite the clouds and rain. South wind howls. Gusts could be 40-45mph.
