Curry College Inducts Sudbury's Shawna Welch to Honor Society

1. Curry College recently announced that Shawna Welch of Sudbury was inducted to the Alexander Graham Bell Honor Society during the fall semester.

The Society recognizes students' academic achievement as well as their leadership of, and commitment to, on-campus and off-campus activities and service. It is named for the famous inventor, Alexander Graham Bell, who became Curry's first chancellor in 1907, a position he held until his death in 1922. 

Membership is limited to 5 percent of the junior class and 10 percent of the senior class who have a GPA of 3.5 or better and have completed at least 30 credits.

2. Goodnow Library will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and will remain closed on Thursday, Nov. 28 in observance of Thanksgiving.

3. On Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 8 p.m. in Sudbury Town Hall, the town will be acknowledged and certified by the Department of Massachusetts Military Order of the Purple Heart as a Purple Heart Community.  Aug. 7 of each year will be designated as Purple Heart Day, honoring all those who made the ultimate sacrifice and shed their blood for their country. All Sudbury veterans are invited to attend this indoctrination ceremony.

Thursday: Happy Thanksgiving! Temps come crashing back down. Mostly sunny skies with temps from 33-37. Gusty winds from the northwest at 25-35 mph.

Friday: Chilly Black Friday with temps in the 30s. At least the sun's out, and it's not as windy.
