Several groups of "Sudbury heroes" will be rewarded for their efforts in the community with a special advanced screening of the new Captain America movie in honor of the film's star actor who grew up in Sudbury.

Multiple Sudbury organizations will head to the AMC Theater in Framingham on Thursday night to view "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" before it hits theaters next week.

Sudbury for Wounded Warriors, The Home Base Program, The Sudbury Military Support Network, Veteras' Agent for Sudbury and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School members were invited to the event.

Captain America star Chris Evans grew up in Sudbury and attended Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. Thursday's event was planned as a way to honor the community heroes of his hometown. Tickets to the screening are not available to the public

According to his Internet Movie Database profile page, Evans was originally from Framingham where he lived until he was 11 years old.

During his time at Lincoln-Sudbury, Evans was active in school plays and regional theater before eventually moving to New York to attend the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute.

Evans had roles in several television series in the early 2000s before hitting the big screen in the comedy Not Another Teen Movie.

Since that role Evans has been in a long list of movies, including the Fantastic Four films where he played Johnny Storm. In the Captain America series, he plays Steve Rogers and Captain America.

In addition to the soon to be opened Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Evans is scheduled to appear in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is currently in filming. He also has two films that are in post-production.
