Landham Road Tentatively Will Reopen Friday Afternoon

Here are 5 things to know in Sudbury today.

1. The Sudbury DPW has announced that Landham Road will tentatively reopen Friday afternoon to through traffic.

"This schedule is subject to change due to matters beyond our control," a statement on the Town of Sudbury website reads.

2. The Community Preservation Committee (CPC) is now soliciting proposals for projects that may qualify for Community Preservation Act funding to be presented at the May 2014 Annual Town Meeting. Proposals can be submitted under any of the four topic areas of: 1) acquisition, creation and preservation of open space; 2) acquisition, preservation, rehabilitation and restoration of historic resources; 3) acquisition, creation, preservation, rehabilitation and restoration of land for recreational use; and 4) acquisition, creation, preservation and support of community housing.

Click on the link for the FY15 Project Form to download the application. Applications should be submitted to the CPC as soon as possible, and no later than Friday, November 1, 2013. Submissions can be mailed to or dropped off at the Planning and Community Development Office, Flynn Building, 278 Old Sudbury Road. Proposals containing no color copies can be emailed to pcd@sudbury.ma.us .

Public hearings about the proposals will be held during the late fall of 2013.

3. At its meeting on August 21, 2013, the Planning Board voted its FY14 Planning Board Projects and Priorities.

4. The Park & Recreation Department is hosting a Dodgeball Night for middle school students.  We will be showing the movie Dodgeball (PG-13) starting at 6pm, dinner will be served during the moive and then we will hit the gym at 7:30. Enjoy a fun night out since there is no school the next day!  There are a limited number of spots so register early!!!
