Paving Scheduled for Route 117

Here are 5 things to know today in Sudbury.

1. On Thursday, the Town of Concord will be paving Route 117 from the Sudbury town line east to Plainfield Road and again on Saturday from the intersection of Rt. 117 and Sudbury Road, east to the bridge.  Motorists can expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

2. L-S Musicians Union performs at the first Rock Concert of the school year on Nov 1, in the cafeteria, from 6:30 – 10 p.m.  MLK Action Project will host the event, and will provide refreshments for sale. All proceeds will go to the Jimmy Mack Fund for AIDS/HIV research and assistance. Admission $5 at the door. 

3. The Sudbury Chamber of Commerce will host Selectmen Chuck Woodard and Len Simon at its next meeting on Nov. 11 at the Wayside Inn. Residents can meet the town's newest selectmen beginning at 5:30 p.m.

4. In case you missed it: 12th Annual HOPEsudbury Telethon Slated for Nov. 2.

5. Forecast:

Friday: Mild, windy and wet with soaking showers likely in the morning. Highs near 70. South wind howls!! Gusts could be 50+mph!! Wind breaks off early afternoon, with some peeks of sun possible late.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy. Some showers creep back to SE Mass and the Cape. Near 60.

Sunday: Colder. Partly sunny. Brightest AWAY from the coast. Highs in the upper 40s.
