T-Wisted Fundraiser to Benefit Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress

Here are 5 things to know today in Sudbury.

1. On Oct. 10 from 4-9 p.m., T-wisted Frozen Yogurt will donate 10 percent of its proceeds to the Massachusetts Down Syndrome Congress (MDSC) 17th Annual Buddy Walk and Family Festival.     

Many Sudbury families be attending this event, which will be on Lake Quannapowitt in Wakefield on Oct. 13.    

The purpose of the Buddy Walk and Family Festival is to celebrate, promote acceptance and inclusion, and look to a bright future for the Down syndrome community in Massachusetts and beyond.   It’s the largest gathering of people with Down syndrome and their loved ones in New England and among the largest in the nation.  

Sudbury's own Kerri and Jon Tabasky are co-chairing the walk for the second year.  

2. Come to the historic Wayside Inn on Oct. 26 for an experience like never before. Start the day by listening to colonial music, talking with re-enactors, visiting sutlers, observing cannon firing demonstrations and more.

Then watch as the Colonial and British armies battle for control of the Red Horse Tavern.

The day's events begin at 11:45 a.m., and conclude at approximately 4 p.m. For more information, call the Wayside Inn at 978-443-1776.

3. There will be a free Zumba demonstration at H2K in Sudbury on Oct. 10, at 7 p.m.

5. Forecast:

Thursday: Early sun then mainly cloudy by afternoon. Highs in the mid & upper 60s.

Friday: Few showers - especially along and south of the Pike. Dry across N.H. Highs in the low 60s. Breezy east wind.

Saturday: Morning clouds & a leftover shower south of the MA pike then dry for the day with some sun--especially the farther north one travels. Highs from 65-70.
