Volunteer Orientations Scheduled at HGRM in Acton

Have you been thinking about getting involved in an organization that helps people in need? Are you interested in meeting some great people? HGRM, Household Goods Recycling of Massachusetts, is a nonprofit organization based in Acton looking for new volunteers to help on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Come learn what HGRM is all about!

New Volunteer orientations are now scheduled for Thursday July 18 at 2:30, Sunday July 21 at 12:30, Tuesday July 23 at 9:00, and Saturday August 3 at 9:00.

Volunteers are instrumental in accomplishing HGRM’s mission of collecting gently used furniture and household goods and supplying them free of charge, in cooperation with community agencies, to people in need.  In 2012, close to 800 volunteers helped nearly 3,000 families make a home.

HGRM volunteers are at the core of HGRM and no prior experience is necessary. Volunteers assist donors who come to drop off furniture and household goods, and they help families in need select furniture and household goods in HGRM’s showroom (530 Great Road, Acton). Volunteers also drive HGRM trucks to pick up donations, they move furniture, repair furniture, help with office work, PR, and fundraising.

Whether you want to spend 3 hours a month or a day a week, we invite you to join our team.  Right now, HGRM has a critical need for volunteers to help accept donations on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9-12 and to help clients on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4.
