Winning River Photographers Feted

Sudbury residents Wayne Hall and Sharon Tentarelli were among the winners of the OARS 2013 Photo Contest with their photos  “Old North Bridge” and Early Morning Paddlers, Sudbury River.”   The 13 winning photographs were announced at a lively reception at ArtScape at Bradford Mill in West Concord on Wednesday evening.  The contest winners, judges, OARS supporters and others viewed the thirteen winning photos taken in and around the Assabet, Concord and Sudbury Rivers.  All the winning photos reflected the photographers’ appreciation of these beautiful rivers, their wildlife, and the roles they play in our communities.

The photos were selected  from 90 submissions by 27 photographers by judges  Stephen Gabler of Sudbury, Roberta Boylen a painter and designer at ArtScape, and Carl Calabria of Concord.  The reception was hosted and held at the ArtScape gallery in the Bradford Mill in West Concord, a vibrant artist community.  The photos can be viewed at www.oars3rivers.org

The photo exhibit will continue through January 8 and the full set of winning photos is available in a 2014 Calendar available from OARS (www.oars3rivers.org)--a great holiday gift that supports OARS’ science-based advocacy to restore the health of the Sudbury, Assabet and Concord RiversOARS thanks Frame-ables of Concord for framing the overall winning photograph and ArtScape for hosting the exhibit.
