Powerball Jackpot Hits $400 Million

There’s still time to buy your tickets for Wednesday’s drawing.

With no jackpot winners in Saturday’s Powerball, Wednesday’s current estimated jackpot is $400 million, making it the largest Powerball jackpot in the game’s history. That’s a lot of money for one winner. The estimated cash option is $227.8 million.

Winning numbers will be drawn at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday night.

To play, pick five numbers out of 59 and then choose one Powerball number out of 35. To win, match all five white balls in any order and one Powerball). Winners can choose an annuitized prize paid out over 29 years (in 30 payments) or a lump sum payment. Tickets cost $2 each. Match five white balls in any order and you win the second prize which is $1 million paid in cash. There are nine ways to win and the odds of winning a prize are 1 in 32.

Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
