Residents Weigh in on Possible Wayside Inn Road Dog Shelter

Some residents think the shelter would be no issue, while others think it doesn't belong in the historic area.

Is an animal shelter in a historic Sudbury area for the dogs? Some residents think so.

On Wednesday we passed along the news that Buddy Dog Humane Society, currently located at 151 Boston Post Road, purchased land on Wayside Inn Road, where they plan to move within the next several years

We asked our Sudbury Patch Facebook followers and Patch commenters to weigh in. Here is a round up of some of their comments.

JON999: I could not think of a worse place for yapping dogs. the Grist Mill is one of very few peaceful parks in Sudbury for families. Our representatives Conroy, Eldridge and Barrett need to help do away with these ridiculous zoning loopholes (40A, 40B, etc.) which are put in place by the developers' lobby to crush the helpless suburbs and make Beacon Hill mandarins feel good. IF THE ROUTE 20 SEWER GOES IN, EXPECT MUCH MORE OF THIS NONSENSE!!

Robb McCune: Maybe its the setback but Ive never heard a loud ruckus coming from the current facility. Not sure its a great fit for where they are proposing but if they bought the land they should be able to do with it as they want, within reason. This seams within reason in my opinion.

Pete Tocci: Oh no. I really hope this does not happen.

Patricia Lynch: Please the dogs would be fine there.... people just have to always complain.

Rob C.: Great organization and hope they get to move to a bigger location on land they own. If it is owned by them and the building of it falls within zoning laws then build it. If not and it is zoned residential only, a nice 40B development would be good choice to stick it to the snooty complainers here.
