Sudbury MLB Draft Pick Visits With Local Little Leaguers

Adam Ravenelle was in his hometown earlier this month after winning a national championship with Vanderbilt.

Adam Ravenelle knows a thing or two about winning baseball games. And earlier this month, he shared some of his knowledge with some young baseball players in his hometown of Sudbury.

Ravenelle has had a whirlwind year. The Sudbury resident and Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School graduate was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the fourth round of the Major League Baseball draft and soon after recorded the final out of Vanderbilt's first ever national championship victory.

While playing for the the Warriors, Ravenelle won a 2011 state championship and was named Dual County League MVP.

He was drafted in 2011 out of high school in the 44th round by the New York Yankees, but opted to attend Vanderbilt University where he went on to win the national title and be selected a member of the 2013 All-SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Earlier this month, he stopped by Featherland Park to meet Little League players, sign some autographs and share some of the lessons he has learned along the way.

Among the Lincoln-Sudbury Youth Baseball Bay State C Red Team players in attendance to meet with Ravenelle were Thomas Dillon, Conor MacLean, Nolan O'Brien, Thomas Rogers, Declan Fagan, Heath Albert, Ben Clark, Ryan Hammond, Jack Collins, Tyler Saklad, Bobby Haarde, and Sophie Ensley.
