Lawyers for Sudbury native Tarek Mehanna have asked a federal appeals court to hold a new hearing for the convicted terrorism supporter, saying a three-person panel contradicted the court’s previous rulings when it decided last month to uphold Mehanna’s conviction, the Boston Globe reports.

Mehanna's lawyers asked the Court of Appeals for the First Circuit to order a new panel hearing or to hold a full hearing with all its judges, according to the Globe.

Mehanna was convicted in 2011 of terrorism charges, including conspiracy to support Al Qaeda.

His conviction was upheld in November by an appeals court on four terrorism-related counts.

Thanks for asking, now please go rot in jail. We don't need your type in our good Country.
