The Sudbury tradition returns on Saturday, November 3, 2012 when HOPEsudbury hosts its 11th Telethon & Auction.
The Telethon & Auction is a 10-hour live broadcast on Sudbury TV (Comcast 8, Fios 31 and streamed on Sudbury TV.org) featuring entertainment by local performers, and an on-air auction with more than 240 great auction items generously donated by area businesses and individuals. Highlights include tickets to the Kiss108 Jingle Ball, Celtics, Nutcracker, Patriots, US Open, Boston Symphony Orchestra, a wine tasting for 12 and gift certificates to restaurants, spas, florists and clothing stores.
Think Channel 2 or Jerry Lewis, only local…
- Sudbury friends and neighbors performing live from Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High.
- Hundreds of volunteers sharing their time and talents to make the event possible.
- Local businesses and services promoted to everyone in town.
Auction guides are available at Sudbury Farms, the Goodnow Library and businesses throughout town. The guide can also be viewed on hopesudbury.org.
The bulk of funds raised from the Telethon support The HOPE Fund which provides emergency financial assistance to Sudbury residents in need. Since HOPEsudbury was founded in 2002, more than $420,000 has been distributed to people in need. In 2011 alone, HOPEsudbury distributed just over $45,000 through The HOPE Fund to help 69 Sudbury families meet emergency needs including medical, utility and home repair bills.
