Teenager With Sudbury Ties Makes American Idol's Top 13

Sam Woolf is moving on in the popular singing competition.

Sam Woolf will keep singing on American Idol.

The talented singer with Sudbury ties made the cut on Fox's national singing show as it was announced on Thursday's episode that he reached the Top 13.

According to a Patch board post, Woolf's father Scott lives in Sudbury, as do his aunt and uncle, Laura and Tod.

Woolf initially tried out for American Idol during the Boston auditions. That means that he is now among the best 13 singers in the competition that began with more than 100,000 singers.

Check back next week to see if Sam's talents were able to help him advance even further in the competition.
