Elizabeth Rust OUI Case In Hands Of Jury

A jury of four women and two men are deliberating today after hearing closing arguments in the Elizabeth Rust OUI case.

Rust's lawyer, Seamus O'Kelly, argued the one-car accident from May 2012 was a result of Rust looking for her cell phone.

The assistant district attorney countered by saying Rust's admission to drinking two Cosmos prior to the accident on an empty stomach is the real reason.

Blood drawn from Rust at Emerson Hospital after the accident had an alcohol content of .16 percent, double the legal limit in Massachusetts.

O'Kelly argued no one knows if the sample was tampered with.

Sudbury Patch will have the verdict once the jury returns.
