Nix Named Sudbury Police Chief

Nix had been the interim chief since Richard Glavin resigned earlier this year.

The following edited release is from the Town of Sudbury:

Town Manager Maureen Valente announced that she has appointed Lt. Scott Nix to be the new Chief of the Sudbury Police Department, effective July 11, 2013.  Lt. Nix has been serving as Interim Police Chief since the beginning of May 2013.

"Chief Nix's many years of experience with the Sudbury Police Department, and the leadership he provided while serving as Interim Chief, make him an ideal candidate for the job," said Valente. “He was a finalist for the position in 2009, and as the Executive Officer for the Department since then, has continuously developed his leadership and management skills. He is extremely qualified to lead the Department into the future.  He will continue the tradition of outstanding public service from the Sudbury Police Department, and I am confident the Department will continue the standard of excellence and professionalism we have been fortunate to experience here in Sudbury”.
