New Montessori School Preparing for September Opening

The school will be open for full and half day, as well as extended day program.

Sudbury will soon have a new educational option for young children as a new school will open in the fall for children younger than six years old.

My Montessori School will open in September, located at 142 North Road, offering half day and full day options for young children.

The school will offer a Montessori curriculum for students during half day education from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and full days that run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, there will also be extended day options from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

"We are excited to bring Montessori education to Sudbury and the surrounding towns," said Cathy Fairbairn of My Montessori School. "Montessori schools have always provided wonderful education to the valuable early childhood years."

My Montessori also has a location in Woburn, and Fairbairn said the school is excited to move to Sudbury, where she added that the school will bring the Montessori philosophy of education as an "aid to life."

Fairbairn said the school's location includes an area for gardening and overlooks a vernal pool, providing an ideal opportunity for children to explore nature. The school has partnered with Drumlin Farm, which will send a representative to teach students about planting seeds each week.

"My Montessori provides children with an authentic and unique Montessori education," said Fairbairn. "Teachers are Montessori trained and highly educated. Children will experience a lifelong love of learning. The Montessori Method of education draws on the natural development of each child. We recognize and respect each student’s learning style and individualize our approach accordingly."
