Emerson Hospital Elects New Members to Board of Directors

Three local residents were elected to the Emerson Hospital Board of Directors at the hospital’s recent annual meeting.

 

“Our board members provide guidance and oversight to ensure that we are fulfilling our mission to the community,” said Christine Schuster, president and CEO of Emerson. “We thank them for making such a significant commitment to Emerson's future.”

Christine Cournoyer of Concord is CEO of N-of-One, a company that specializes in precision medicine, matching diagnosis and treatment strategy to an individual’s unique molecular makeup. Previously, she was president and COO of Picis of Wakefield (now a division of United Healthcare), a leading company in the healthcare IT market. She served on the boards of Stride Rite Corporation, GTECH and BJ’s Wholesale Club. Cournoyer is currently a Corporator for Emerson Hospital and a member of the Boston Club and Women Corporate Directors.

David I. Rose, MD of Sudbury is chair of radiology at Emerson Hospital and president of the North Bridge Imaging Group. A member of Emerson’s active medical staff since 1999, Dr. Rose was a hospital board member from 2006 until 2012, and he served as president of the medical staff from 2007 until 2009. He received his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed both his residency in radiology and his fellowship in mammography at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Rose is board certified in radiology.

 

Vlassis Travias, MD, FACOG of Concord is an obstetrician/gynecologist at Concord OB/GYN, having joined the active medical staff in 2001. Past secretary of the medical staff and associate chair of OB/GYN, Dr. Travias has served on several hospital committees, including credentials. He received his medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed his residency at State University of New York Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Travias is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
