Massachusetts Start-Up Chooses Sudbury To Launch Pilot Program

September 12th, 2013  Today, Massachusetts based start-up EverPresent announced Sudbury as the first location for its local consultant program.  The company, whose goal is to bring families closer together by helping them digitize old photos and videos and share them with loved ones, believes in a local touch.

“We are literally working with a family’s most cherished possessions—their memories,” said owner Eric Niloff. “We think that having a trusted, respected member of the community working locally and visiting people’s homes, is exactly what families need.  If you have 50 photo albums and boxes of video tapes at home, you need someone to help you make a plan, and you’re not going to just send those items in the mail to a random website.”

For its first local consultant, EverPresent has hired Jane Simons of Sudbury, a mother and former nurse.

“The work we do for families is truly priceless,” said Jane.  “I love my job.  On a daily basis I get to help families share their old memories and create new ones.  I work closely with my clients to help them with their specific needs, whether it’s a family’s entire collection filled with thousands of slides, VHS tapes and film reels or a simple slideshow for a family reunion.  It’s so rewarding.”

According to owner Eric Niloff, “Sudbury was a no-brainer for our first location.  We wanted a tight-knit community where families have lived for generations.  We made a short list, and once we met Jane, it was obvious Sudbury was going to be the place, and we couldn’t be more excited.”

All the work at EverPresent is done locally at their office just off of Route 9 in Newton.   The company can digitally preserve almost all media types, including:  VHS tapes, 8mm cassettes, MiniDV, 8mm/Super8/16mm reels, photos, slides, negatives, artwork, newspaper clippings and oversized items such as scrapbooks and paintings.  The company also works directly with families to share memories through custom slideshows, photo books and wall art.

“Eighty percent of family photo and video collections experience loss, damage or serious wear and tear over time.  Putting your photos on a USB, DVD or safely online protects your memories forever,” said Eric Niloff, Owner of EverPresent. “We’ve tripled in size in the last year, and we hope that bringing great local consultants like Jane Simons to communities like Sudbury will help us serve even more families with an exceptional level of customer service.”
