Needham Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade to Benefit Sudbury's Buddy Dog

The Residences at Wingate (www.residencesatwingate.com), Needham’s only 5-star senior living community, today announced that Needham will be having it’s very own pet parade starting in early November. The inaugural Wingate Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2013 from noon – 2 pm to benefit Sudbury’s Buddy Dog Humane Society.

Area pet owners are encouraged to dress their pets in costume to win hundreds of dollars in prizes. Dogs, cats and all types of animal-friendly furry friends are welcome to participate. Knots of Fun (www.happyhandshappydogs.com) in Framingham will also be on hand to help kids and adults alike create their very own original dog toy to take home surrounded by sweet treats and much more.

According to a recent survey by Wayfair.com, the most popular costumes for dogs this year will be royal-themed costumes followed by iconic characters from Hollywood films and various animal costumes. Attendees and participants alike can expect to see everything from pretty princesses to not-so-pretty Yoda’s.

An extension of the owner’s love of animals, The Residences at Wingate is a pet-friendly community encouraging all types of animals. “The therapeutic benefits of pets are well-known and, over the last 20 years, we’ve experienced it first-hand. Our hope is that more seniors will realize the relaxation and comfort that comes with having a companion while helping to keep pets out of shelters,” said Angela “A.J.” Plummer, Director of Memory Care Services for The Residences at Wingate and Senator Ed Markey’s Ambassador for Alzheimer’s Care for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Residences at Wingate is located adjacent to the Wingate at Needham skilled care center at 235 Gould Street offering hospitality and healthcare all on one campus. The luxurious 91-unit independent living, assisted living and memory care community offers a number of sought-after amenities including leased apartments with underground parking, restaurant-style and outdoor dining, a Wellness Center, start-of-the-art security and much more in a modern setting.

Wingate Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade will be held on November 2, 2013 from noon – 2 pm. To RSVP or for more information, call (781) 455-9080.
