2. ADVENT SESSIONS: All are invited to attend Advent sessions on Sundays from noon to 1:30 pm at the West Acton Baptist Church in Acton. The study guide on the book “Modeling Mary in Christian Discipleship” by John Burns will be used. 3. THE NUTCRACKER: Celebrate the season as Mass Ballet performs the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School at 7 p.m. Enjoy the beautiful costumes, music and dancing as young dancers from around the region bring Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Nutcracker to life. The show takes place with four performances the weekend of Dec. 14-16.

5. WHAT TO CELEBRATE TODAY: Today is National Bouillabaisse Day. Bouillabaisse is believed to have originated in Marseilles, France. It is extremely popular all around the Mediterranean, and is a specialty in ports across the region. Bouillabaisse is a fish stew or soup. All agree the fish should be white fillets. Recipes call for variety of fish, including cod, snapper, flounder, halibut, sea bass, monk fish, and more.
