2. ANOTHER CHANCE TO MEET SEN. ELDRIDGE: All residents from the Middlesex and Worcester District are welcome to attend a Town Hall meeting this week to speak with State Sen. Jamie Eldridge.

Eldridge is seeking feedback, ideas, and suggestions on both budget priorities and legislation for the next legislative session, in addition to taking questions from residents on any subject of local concern.

The Marlborough Town Hall meeting will be on Thursday, Jan. 3 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Boys & Girls Club of MetroWest, 169 Pleasant Street, Marlborough.

3. LEARN TO PLAY THE PIANO: Note-worthy Experiences is a private piano studio located at 75 Witherell Dr. in Sudbury.

Students in preschool, up to senior citizens, are welcome. Gifted and special needs students are welcome. Students who are schooled at home are welcome.

All lessons are taught in the studio or via Skype.

Students have the opportunity to participate in local nursing home recitals, formal recitals, National Piano Guild Auditions, competitions and festivals.

All lessons are taught by Renee Bordner; B. Ed., M. Ed. a member of the National Piano Guild, Music Teacher National Association, Concord Area Music School Association and Sudbury Commission on Disabilities.

4. ARE YOU FEELING LUCKY: It's New Year's eve, but did you know it's also Unlucky Day? We sincerely hope it's not unlucky for you. It will be unlucky for some people. It seems fitting that Unlucky Day is the last day of the year. You get the chance to get all the bad things out of the way, so next year will be happy, healthy and prosperous.

5. THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1879 — Thomas Edison gave the first public demonstration of an electric incandescent lamp; 1938 — The first breath test for drivers, "drunkometer," was introduced in Indianapolis; 1946 — President Truman officially proclaimed the end of hostilities in World War II.
